Pathways and Programme Manager

Working with the BMA Director, this role is responsible for the organisation and oversight of the two pathway programmes. The postholder will play a key part in driving the Academy culture, placing inclusion and excellence at the heart of everything the Academy works to achieve.

Head of Learning Pathways

Working with the BMA Director, this role will include overseeing the development of a fit-for-purpose curriculum, as well as designing procedures to monitor quality and student progression. Also responsible for recruiting and overseeing training of additional staff and professional tutors from across the various roles of the industry, the post holder will play a key part in driving the Academy culture, placing inclusion and excellence at the heart of everything the Academy works to achieve.

Programme Manager

The Programme Manager will support the BMA Director and Head of Learning Pathways on the day-to-day delivery of programme activity, including liaising with families from point of referral throughout their time with the Academy, organising venue hire and instrument/resource requirements, scheduling delivery teams, processing payments and overseeing the creation and distribution of marketing assets, recruitment materials, and evaluation processes. The Programme Manager will also attend all delivery sessions on Saturdays, providing pastoral support to participants and staff, and contributing to the monitoring and collation of information related to individual student progress.

Fundraiser

BMA fundraiser is responsible for securing funding to deliver BMA’s programmes and activities. They are responsible for bid writing to large funders as well as individuals, trusts and foundations. They will build relationships with partners and potential funders who might support BMA long term. The appointed  fundraiser will create Brent Music Academy content such as project portfolio’s and pitch decks for potential funders as well as evaluate ongoing projects.

BMA Mentor

Mentors are responsible for building a holistic picture of each student in their cohort to ensure that BMA provides both pastoral support and career mentoring; and ensure that the student’s overall “musical menu” will get them to where they want to be in their career. They will observe each cohort (20-30 students) during the sessions and provide pastoral support where needed, including 1-to-1 time with each student and liaising with home and other educational settings.

BMA Supporting Musicians

Supporting musicians are responsible for engaging with the workshop leader’s vision, inspiring students with their own playing and performance, supporting students during the session activities, demonstrating, showing solidarity with students if they themselves are learning a new concept alongside students, monitoring progress of BMA students during each session and feeding this back at the end, including pastoral observations. They should be able to take the initiative to expand and develop work in small group settings. Supporting musicians have the chance to step up and lead moments of the session if they wish; BMA is always looking to develop future workshop leaders and would look to support their existing team of musicians in this, with further training and mentorship. All roles within BMA contain a safeguarding responsibility and full training will be given.
